Is nipple pulling considered an obsessive compulsive behavior? i suffer from various behavioral problems and under the category ocd have several problems: i find myself pulling on my nipples when i wake up in the morning when i am in a sleep/wake state. also, when i am absorbed in a tv program (which consumes my life) and am pulling on my nipples constantly, and am hardly aware of doing so. i am 63 and this only began several years ago. |

How do I get my baby to stop yanking and pulling my nipple? My daughter is 6 months old and I'm still breastfeeding. She absolutely refuses a bottle. Now she pulls and yanks my nipple when she eats, she's only been doing this for the last week and it hurts! I don't know how to make her stop. Also, I need to get her started on a bottle, I'm going back to school in a few weeks... I don't know how to get her to take one, help please! |
Sorry for the ridiculous answer you got before, I wish I could give some advice on how to get her to stop pulling and yanking, my son is 5 months and he has been pulling off really hard, and it really hurts, and he has been doing this for quite a while, then wanting to get right back on and eat.... this has probably been going on for over a month now, and sometimes it feels worse than the first week of breastfeeding!!! Well ok I don't know if it is worse because for me that was hell..... but here's what I have been doing:
telling him no sternly and touching his bottom lip, which calms him a bit and the most he does is give me a pouty bottom lip... which is just to adorable to keep looking at him sternly, and once I put him back on, if he does it again I repeat the same and if it happens a third time, we take a 5 min break. so maybe you could try that.
As far as getting her to take a bottle.... my son refuses a bottle... on a rare occasion if I have to be away from him say at the doctor or the store, my mom tries to give him a baba of expressed milk and he refuses. Most people suggest trying to let someone besides yourself offer the bottle, for me that worked for a bit, but now that I'm back in school (taking online classes) my mom tries to help out and give him a bottle, but if i'm in the house I swear he must have super sonic smelling abilities because he throws a fit! All I can say is its probably going to be a slow process that will require time a patience... I know being a mom plus student at the same time is hard when working with bottles...just keep trying :-)
I hope something I have mentioned will help you... good luck
p.s This happens a lot when he gets startled or hears a new noise in the room such as our dog coming in or his daddy.... so we try and sit in a quiet room alone for the most part... but he still does it sometimes no matter what. |
What can stop a four year old female from pulling her nipple? I know a parent who has a four year old girl and she constantly pulls, pinches, and twists her nipple. She only does this to one and it is now appears deformed. Is this behavior normal and what could stop this behavior? |

Why is my 4-month old pulling my nipple during breastfeeding? She has been doing this for 3 weeks. I think it may be related to teething how much longer will this last and how do I prevent her from doing it? I'm in pain and dread each feeding. Any advice/experiences with this? |
I'm having the same problem with my 5 1/2 month old. I'm to the point where I am thumping her with my finger on her cheek to get her attention because the little turd looks at me and smiles or laughs when I take her off and say "No biting!" At the same time, I don't want her to associate being nursed with being thumped!
There is a good website called KellyMom.comthat answers all kinds of questions about BF. I'm going to post this question there tomorrow. You might want to check it out there too. Lots of experienced breast feeders there. |
Is Pulling your nipple at night make your boobs bigger? Is this true? What should i do? |
| No but massaging them helps circulate lymphatic fluid which is good for overall breast health. Blocked lymph node ducts calcify over time and have a higher incidence of cancer. Massaging them once a day also makes you more likely to notice any lumps or abnormalities. |
What movie is it where they resuscitate a man by pulling on his nipple rings? There was a comedy where a man had a heart attack and was lying down. The doctors try to use those electric pulse machine to get the heart going again, but to no avail. Finally in despair somebody starts yanking on the victims’ nipple rings. The rings eventually rip off, and the man comes back to life.
What movie is this? Is it Scary Movie? (If so, which one.) I can’t find this scene. |
It definitely sounds like a Scary Movie type of deal.
That sounds like a spoof of the Final Destination scene where the guy was dead and the guy doing the autopsy just ripped the nipple rings out.
I have no idea which one it is though, or if i'm even correct. |
Why is my Baby pulling on nipple? My 4 mnth old keeps pulling my nipple really hard during feedings and gtng fussy. Can I b low on milk and if so wat causes it and wat shld I do? Only experienced answers please |
| Have you tired pumping at a feeding to see how much milk you would get? My son would drink about 3 1/2 - 4 oz at that age, so if you are not getting about that, you may wish to seek the help of a lactation consultant. There are things you can do to improve your supply, the most important being nursing often, about every 2 hours. Also, is it possible that he/she is teething? When my son is teething, he tends to be a bit rougher than usual. Hope this helps! |
Breast feeding causing nipple to turn inwards? I have a 3 and a half week old, Ive been breast feeding and expressing. In the last week, I have noticed my nipple has been really sore and has started to turn inwards (inverted). Its very painful, and I know when its happening because I can feel my nipple pulling inwards. Ive never had this problem and have had prominent nipple my whole life. This is my second guy. Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know the cause? Im very worried. |
| Go with Kelseys answer - the lactation coach will be the greatest friend you ever had while you are breast feeding - you can find them at almost any hospital and usually they offer group setting/support w/o a fee...if you want one on one it's a few bucks |
Kitten Pulling Nipple off Bottle? Aggressive Biting!? My kitten is now roughly 4 weeks old, and is still being bottle fed. She has been eating much better.
Anyways, she bites. Hard. It's like she goes into a little convulsion while she's doing it, she grabs something with her claws and presses herself against it and really sinks her teeth into it. At first, it was just me she would do this too, and then it became my friends. She breaks skin all the time now, nothing works, even scruffing her doesn't make her let go. The only way she'll let go is if i either spray her with water or if she gets tired of doing it after a few minutes. Lately the water spraying has been less and less effective.
She does it to her bottle, too. Today she pulled the nipple off and almost swallowed it. HELP! I had to reach in with my fingers and pull it out of her throat while she was making choking sounds. I don't know what to do, i'm afraid to bottle feed her after that but i can't get her interested in a saucer. I need suggestions. |
| I would try to see if she is ready for some soft kitten food like from a can. Then see if she will eat some moist food and then the hard food it sounds like she is hungry and the bottle is not filling her up. She is not getting full from the bottle and she want to chew on something and needs to fill up her belly so I would try that and see if it helps. She might be a little older than you think and ready to eat more! Just a thought. |
