Making a patent leather bondage outift: help?
I'm planning on making this mini top with a zipper int he front and buckles all over, and really shortshorts and pant legs at the bottom, so their not completly connected, but I don't klnow where I can download the patterns for this outfit((or something similar)) help please? Serious awnsers!

I know sources for almost all types of patterns, so I can say with some authority that you are on your own for this one. You won't find a fetish section in simplicity's catalogue! Nor is there a section of burdastyle where you can download your own bondage gear in PDF format! You can however, adapt regular basic sewing patterns for the shapes of the pieces, such as the top and shorts, but the arrangement of the hardware such as buckles and zips is going to take improvisation skills.

You should workout the size and the fit of your outfit in a fabric such as unbleached muslin. it's what pros use to fit garments on people before cutting the expensive fabric. You can also work out and experiment with the placement of the hardware while the piece is in muslin form. After you are happy with the test muslin, take it apart and use the fabric to cut out the leather.

To sew patent leather, use a heavy leather point needle and high quality thread. I use a long staple polyester thread such as gutterman or metler, some leather workers prefer heavier upholstery thread or even nylon thread. In my experience, many home machines have trouble with nylon thread, and polyester is just as sturdy. Use overlapped seams rather than the traditional wrong sides together then press the seam open method. Over lapped seams are less bulky. Use a long stitch length, too short a stitch can weaken the leather. You won't be able to remove mistakes, there will be holes in the leather, so be sure of the fit by making the muslin test!

Is it easy to get out of Leather bondage cuffs?
Just wondering. Because I know they're used a lot in BDSM scenarios and such but, upon looking at pics of them, they don't look too secure at all. I mean you could actually reach the buckle with your fingers and just unbuckle it, couldn't you? At least that's what I would do. I think if you buckle them tight you cannot release them yourself. I believe they are more comfortable and you can move more than in handcuffs that could hurt your wrists and ankles. If you struggled in handcuffs you could seriously hurt yourself unlike the cuffs.
